"The support from both JAT and Lawson has been incredible, unlike I ever thought possible in a product as well as an implementer."

JAT Time Accrual Docking and Rollover
Enhancement to Lawson HR

JAT Time Accrual Docking and Rollover was designed and developed for organizations with mandated employee leave rules more restrictive than the standard Lawson system. As delivered, although a warning message is issued, employees are allowed to take sick and vacation leave in excess of what is accrued and available to them.

Through a series of process rules, an employee's gross wages can either be docked for the shortfall between the time taken and the time available and/or a corresponding number of hours can be rolled-over from another eligible leave plan. This process can be implemented to run on a periodic or an annual basis.

Process Overview
A new time accrual screen allows the user to enter process rules for each accrual plan and may include process groups and effective dates. For each leave plan, the user may elect to rollover balances on a periodic basis. With the rollover option, the user can select up to 15 additional plans that the system will check for available leave balances. A special rollback pay code is used to post the balancing hours entry.

In conjunction with (or in place of) the rollover options, the user may choose to dock gross wages for any hours taken in excess of those available. Unique pay codes are used to post the entries.

The same screen allows the user to define any rollover rules that may be applied annually.

This enhancement also includes two batch processes. The first process is used for periodic processing. For rollovers, two time records are created - one offsets the rollback pay code and another reduces the balance of the selected Time Accrual plan. Time records with negative hours are created as part of the docking process.

A second batch process applies annual rollover rules. Although, rather than creating time records, this process creates time accrual adjustment transactions which makes this process independent of the payroll cycle. These transactions have a user-definable description to readily identify annual rollover transactions.

This enhancement is designed to increase the delivered Lawson functionality. It does not require modifications to any Lawson code.
